Framing Age: Workshop & Lunch
We want to create a society that respects, values and celebrates everyone at every age.
Sometimes the way we frame our messages can inadvertently be disrespectful of older people or younger people. For example, it can be stereotyping individuals according to their age. This is a form of ageism, which is a known driver of elder abuse.
To shift ageist attitudes, we must begin by thinking, representing and talking differently about older people and ageing.
This 3 hour Workshop & Lunch will increase your knowledge and skills to recognise and reduce ageist language, imagery and attitudes. It will teach us how to shift ageist attitudes by the way we communicate about older people and ageing.
The workshop uses the principles of values-based messaging and the vision-barrier-action framework, outlined in the Framing Age Message Guide. This will deepen your understanding and skills to develop messages about ageing in a positive way.
